The links below go to pre 2004 election archives.  They are open to the public only by special request [click on de buttons]. They will be closed for the next four years, at which time they will be found either in the I Told You So Room, or the Wow !  America You Were Right Room.  I am closing the door on my political persuasion period.  As to what the rest of you do now- I defer to the eloquent words of Clark Gable.

First, I don't owe nobody nutting.  I paid my own dues.   During the relevant time period we had a two year draft requirement.   I served for four years, twice what my country required of me.  Overall,  I have done more good than harm.  The domestic issues de jour do not affect me directly.  I think I have enough income to live out my days in relative comfort.  Regardless of the economic roller coaster, I believe I will continue to be able to meet my basic needs, and if I have to adapt, I do that well.  I had a vasectomy 30 years ago, so I don't have a vested interest in the right to choose issue.  The gay marriage issue doesn't impact me at all.  Who other folks sleep with or love is none of my business; or concern. [ a 'la Seinfeld, let me hasten to add that the only reason I am not gay is because I am not sexually attracted to males. Truth be known, I can barely stand to hang out with us.]   I didn't have to bump up against the glass ceiling.  If the government comes snooping around on my hard drive under the umbrella of the patriot act... So? The average 15 year old hacker has been able to do that for years.  So electorate, I wish you well, but don't call me,  I am retired.

I will pass on the gold watch, and instead ask for a few final words.  Never mind about trying to blame George, we are on the path we chose, and we had plenty of information to guide our choice.  One of the reasons I don't fear the future is that I am more amused than angry.  Get out the vote?  Far better to wish on a star.  This may be the only time in my life I have quoted my mother but-- "OK, you made your bed, now you have to lie in it".  As for me, I am slamming the door on societies sublimated sputtering.  I can be found behind my closed door working on the single greatest problem facing civilization today.  How stupid people can learn smart things.
Oh, I almost forgot the Nostradamus part. I predict that ere the fowl flies through the quarter moon,  we will be blessed with the conspiracy theory that John threw the election to George because of the pacts they made in their secret college  society.
